DENTSU AD-GEAR INC. declares that it will strive to manage and protect personal information properly by establishing this Basic Policy on the Protection of Personal Information in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and the guidelines concerning the Act on the Protection of Personal Information relating to Economy and Industry.
This Privacy Policy, which applies to any personal information handled by any business of the Company, sets forth the Company’s basic guidelines for personal information.
The Company will handle personal information in compliance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other laws and regulations on the protection of personal information, guidelines, and this Privacy Policy, as well as guidance and other rules stipulated by the government.
In acquiring personal information, the Company will clearly stipulate the purpose of use, and acquire, use, and provide such information appropriately. In addition, the Company will establish internal management structures and take security precautions so that personal information will not be used outside the intended purpose.
In handling personal information, the Company will manage such information properly by establishing the person responsible for such management and strive to prevent external leaks. In addition, we will implement proper and reasonable levels of security against such risks as external unauthorized access, loss, destruction, and alteration as we strive to protect personal information. In case of such events, the Company will promptly take corrective action.
The Company will limit access to databases and personal information authorized personnel only in order to prevent unauthorized internal use.
The Company might outsource the handling of personal information to external organizations. In such a case, the Company will select a group company or an organization that will properly handle personal information (“Outsourcee”) and agree to the necessary stipulations for preventing leakage of personal information, such as management of personal information, confidentiality, and the prohibition of re-submission in an outsourcing agreement or other similar documents, ensuring that the Outsourcee executes proper management.
If an individual or his/her agent requests the disclosure or correction (meaning correction, addition, deletion, suspense of use, erasure, or suspension of provision to third parties) of personal information, the Company will respond to such a request in accordance with laws and regulations.
In accordance with this Privacy Policy, the Company will establish internal rules for the protection of personal information, present a clear policy on the handling of personal information to the Company’s directors and employees, and strive to protect personal information. The Company will establish a framework for audits to check whether personal information is sufficiently protected.
The Company will continuously improve its approach to protecting personal information by reviewing the management system for protecting personal information based on changes in society and surroundings.

The Company will acquire personal information by fair and appropriate means and will use such information within the scope of the purpose of use indicated in Table 1. With respect to the types of personal information other than as indicated in types of information column in Table 1, we will use such information after individually notifying or publishing the purpose of use or obtaining the individual’s prior consent.
As indicated in “Use of outsourcing” and “Outsourcing operations” in Table 1 and Table 2 below, the Company outsources part of the personal information related operations to external business operators. Placing the highest priority on the management of outsourcees, the Company will select business operators whose level of personal information protection is adequate and clarify the obligations considered necessary in contracts or other similar documents when outsourcing operations. In addition, the Company will request that outsourcees properly handle personal information and execute supervision and audits for security management on an ongoing basis.
In principle, the Company will not disclose nor provide personal information to third parties. If we disclose or provide personal information, we will do so in a proper manner in accordance with laws and regulations.
The Company might share personal information with group companies, business partners, and others in order to co-host seminars or on other such occasions. In such a case, the Company will clarify the purpose of use, data items, scope of users, and the person responsible for managing the information in advance and notify or release it. In addition, the Company will limit the sharing of employee information posted on the Dentsu Group’s intranet (e.g., name, department, ID photo, company phone number, company e-mail address) and other profile information discretionally entered for Dentsu Group employees. (The person responsible for personal information protection serves as the Company’s manager of employees’ personal information.)
With respect to personal information acquired by the Company as indicated in Table 1, requests for disclosure of sources and the methods of acquiring the information and other requests (notification of purpose of use, disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, erasure, and suspension of provision to third parties), inquiries, and complaints should be directed to the contact department listed below. We will provide information on the procedures for submitting such requests any related fees. When responding to such inquiries, we will confirm that the inquirer is the owner of the personal information or his/her agent.
